Anti-wrinkle Injections
Anti-wrinkle Injections are among the most popular aesthetic anti-aging procedures. These injections offer a safe and effective solution for treating fine lines and wrinkles, with minimal downtime, resulting in a relaxed, refreshed and youthful appearance.
Which Areas Can Be Treated?
The most common areas treated with anti-wrinkle injections include:
- Crow’s Feet/ Orbicularis Oculi
- Frown/ Glabellar Lines
- Forehead/ Frontalis Lines
- Hyperhidrosis (Excessive sweating)
- Eyebrow lift
- Masseter (Jawline Slimming)
- Smoker’s/ Perioral Lines
- Bunny/ Nasalis Lines
- Gummy Smile/ Levator Labii Superioris
Consultation and Treatment
Anti-wrinkle injections are a safe and reliable treatment. Before the procedure, all patients must complete a medical history form, a consent form and there is a consultation with the aesthetic pharmacist to address any questions or concerns.
During the treatment, the pharmacist will administer small amounts of botulinum toxin to the targeted muscles using an ultra-fine needle. The results typically become visible within 3-14 days and the effects usually last for 3-4 months. With repeated treatments, the muscles weaken, leading to prolonged effects and less frequent treatments. Maintenance treatments are necessary to sustain the results.
Patients are advised to avoid alcoholic beverages before treatment and to schedule the procedure at least two weeks before any important events.
Aftercare
After your treatment, the pharmacist will provide aftercare instructions to maximise the benefits of your treatment:
- You can resume normal activities immediately after the appointment, including driving yourself home or returning to work.
- Avoid exercise for 4-6 hours post-treatment and refrain from massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours.
- Flying is safe after treatment, though it is recommended to wait at least 48 hours before a long-haul flight.
A review appointment is advised two weeks after your initial treatment, though generally not required for subsequent appointments.
